\nRiot Games has revealed its intention to expand its League of Legends<\/a> European Championship (LEC). The expansion will see the league cover the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, along with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Turkey.<\/p>\n

The game developer and organizer made this known in their press release on their official LOL EMEA website.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter ten incredible years of League of Legends Esports in Europe, we\u2019re honoured to announce our plans for the future of the region heading into 2023,\u201d the press release read.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you\u2019ve been with us for ten years or one, we\u2019re determined to bring you a bigger, better, bolder vision of LoL Esports in the region, and continue innovating to keep the LEC and wider ecosystem at the forefront of a new generation of competitive play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we’re proud to announce we\u2019re expanding our region, with T\u00fcrki\u0307ye, CIS and MENA merging with Europe to become one competitive and united region. Welcome to #EMEA23.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want EMEA to be a region that brings fans together across multiple continents, competing for regional pride and international success.
