The developer of Valorant, Riot Games, has suspended two Game Changers players for cheating and misleading officials.

Riot released a statement on February 8, stating that Alex “Dyslexic” Luong and Jennifer “nabiichu” Choe violated the Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers Rule Set by misleading tournament officials in regards to the gender of Dyslexic, when playing a match for EQ Cerise.

On October 8, 2022, EQ Cerise played CLG Red in an official VCT Game Changers match. EQ Cerise were allowed an emergency substitute for the match.

Dyslexic, who identifies as he/him, got in contact with nabiichu, a now former member of EQ Cerise, and offered to change his gender to non-binary in order to play against CLG Red, misleading the officials along the way.

Dyslexic has also been sanctioned for his use of a prohibited third-party program to cheat during competitive matches against CLG Red on October 8, 2022.

Dyslexic is banned from any association or affiliation with a team in a Riot-sanctioned competition for eight years, beginning from the date of the latest violation to October 8, 2030.

As for nabiichu, she is banned from any association or affiliation with a team in a Riot-sanctioned competition for five years, beginning from the date of the latest violation to October 8, 2027.

The relevant VCT Game Changers Rule Set that both nabiichu and Dyslexic are said to have broken are as follows;

Section 3.1: Team Members Gender

All players on a Team’s roster must be women or of marginalized genders.

Section 3.9: Eligibility Vouching

If a Player participating in a Game Changers event is determined, at the sole discretion of Tournament Officials, to have misled the Tournament Operator with regard to these Team Member Eligibility requirements, all Team members on the Player’s Team may be sanctioned.

Section 7.2.5: Cheating

Cheating is prohibited. Any modification of the VALORANT game client by a Team or Team Member is prohibited. The use of any kind of cheating device or cheat program shall be deemed cheating.

The eight- and five-year bans handed out to Dyslexic and nabiichu are the biggest to be seen in professional Valorant throughout its short history.

Reports suggest that Valorant Game Changers player Lara “Larischz” Gilardoni has reportedly passed away. The former DELIRA female who has been active in the Valorant scene as a professional player is said to have passed away at the age of 27.

News about her death was first reported by Valorant reporter Ricardo Vaz de Melo, who broke the news of her passing on December 30. The cause of Lara “Larischz” Gilardoni’s death is currently unknown, but according to Vaz de Melo, Larischz was on vacation in Pinamar, a city on the coast of Argentina, at the time of her passing.

The 27-year old Argentinian player participated in various teams in the Brazil Game Changers circuit in her time playing the esports title. Most recently, she competed with DELIRA Female in the Esportsmaker Spike Ladies No. 4 tournament, which ended on October 29th.

Larischz played a key role in DELIRA Female’s victory at the event, where the team earned a prize of $2,849 USD (15,000 BRL). She contributed to their success by using a range of agents including Killjoy, Omen, Cypher, and Brimstone for the span of the tournament and specifically in their grand final match against Black Dragons Female.

She participated in the VCT 2022: Game Changers Brazil Series Two in October, where her team placed in the top six after being defeated by Gamelanders Purple in the upper quarterfinals. They also proceeded to lose to B4 Angels in the lower bracket semifinals, thereby crashing out of the event.

Larischz was a talented player who was known for her exceptional skills and sportsmanship on the Valorant battlefield. She was a rising star in the competitive gaming world, with a promising career ahead of her.

She formerly competed under Keyd Stars, one of the top esports franchises in the Brazilian VALORANT scene. She played for the Keyd Stars Athenas team, which placed in the top six of the Protocolo: Evolu??o tournament.

The tournament featured other notable teams such as Gamelanders Purple, B4 Angels, and Havan Liberty Female. Larischz’s team, Keyd Stars Athenas, made a strong showing and earned a high finish in the competition.

Her former team, Vivo Keyd, took to Twitter to confirm the reports.

“Her passion and drive will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Keyd, the Stars and the scenery. You will continue to inspire us wherever you are. Rest in peace, manita,” the franchise tweeted.

Misfits Black to release “florescent” from Valorant roster https://www.iirgulf.com/misfits-black-to-release-florescent-from-valorant-roster/ https://www.iirgulf.com/misfits-black-to-release-florescent-from-valorant-roster/#respond Sat, 26 Nov 2022 08:01:45 +0000 https://www.iirgulf.com/?p=26217 Recent signing for Misfits Black "florescent" will not be playing for the franchise in the 2023 Valorant season.

Misfits Black are reportedly on course to release Ava “florescent” Eugene from their Valorant roster. Multiple reports suggest that the Canadian, who joined the North American franchise barely five months ago, will not be playing for the franchise in the 2023 season.

With Misfits Black parting ways with the 16-year old, florescent will become an unrestricted free agent and she will be allowed to explore her options.

According to reports, Misfits Black have been practicing with Gen.G Black player Ethan “edith” Bryce Cutlip.

Florescent has been on the Valorant scene since 2020 and has quite a good amount of titles under her belt in C-tier and B-tier tournaments.

In September, she led the team to win the Super Girl Gamer Pro – Summer 2022: Championships. The franchise swept Team Mystic Venus in a best-of-three matchup in the Grand Final.

Having qualified for the VCT 2022: Game Changers North America Series 3, the Misfits Black were poised to go all the way but finished in third place.

They fell to the lower bracket after losing to Shopify Rebellion GC in the upper bracket quarterfinal. The franchise breezed through the lower bracket and made it through to the bracket’s final, where they were one win away from the grand final.

During their lower bracket run, they had bested Evil Geniuses GC, XSET Purple, and the Immortals, in that order. Their run was, however, brought to an end by a worthy rival.

They faced Shopify Rebellion GC again after the latter were swept by Cloud9 White in the upper bracket final. The fixture ought to be Misfits Black’s opportunity to exert revenge, but Shopify Rebellion GC overpowered them after a thrilling best-of-five series.

In the lower bracket final of the third series of VCT Game Changers North America, Florescent attained over 100 kills during Misfit Black’s revenge match-up against Shopify Rebellion GC.

She recorded the highest average combat score, but her individual efforts were not enough to give the Misfits Black a win over Shopify Rebellion.

Due to their failure to advance past the lower bracket final, Misfits Black were unable to qualify for the Game Changers Championship, which was held in Berlin, Germany, and came to an end on November 20.

The finalists at the third series of VCT Game Changers North America, Cloud9 and Shopify Rebellion GC, became the region’s representatives at the championship. Shopify Rebellion GC made it all the way to the grand final of the tournament but lost to EMEA’s finest, G2 Gozen.

Florescent’s most recent outing was at the FaZe Smeag All-Star Weekend Show Match Tournament, where she competed alongside multiple VCT professional players. Florescent, who played under streamer Average Jonas’ team, played a crucial role in defeating Team Sharks and Team ShahZam, but they were bested by Team Tarik and Team Brax, which led to their elimination from the event.

The tournament, which ended on November 7, saw Sentinels streamer and content creator Tarik’s team win the event and walk away with a prize money of $25,000.

If the reports are anything to go by, Florescent’s next destination remains unclear at this time, but Gen.G is set to part ways with their entire Game Changers roster.

The Japanese team ZETA DIVISION has confirmed that its player, flappy, is a trans woman.

A month ago, ZETA DIVISION started to recruit female players to compete in the Valorant Game Changers event in East Asia, in order to make it to the final event held in November in Berlin. The search was initiated on June 15, and after many weeks of tryouts, the organization decided to sign five rising stars: flappy, Airi “romia” Sugiyama, aco, suzu, and Sarina “Moco” Kawashima.

After the search, ZETA DIVISION officially announced on July 27 that it will be entering the VALORANT Game Changers scene with a women’s roster. The gender of flappy was questioned when the team’s signing was publicized on Twitter.

Following this, ZETA DIVISION took to their official Twitter platform to address and defend flappy’s gender. According to the organization, flappy sees herself as a woman who has transitioned into a different gender and is currently undergoing the appropriate hormone therapy in order to comply with the requirements set by Riot Games in order to compete. ZETA DIVISION also said that it had flappy’s consent to release the information and that it believed that it was important as a means of putting an end to the rumors that were circulating about their squad.

“Flappy, who belongs to the?VALORANT?GC department, which is the origin of the rumor, is a transgender woman who goes to the hospital and takes hormones in order to become a body that matches her gender identity,” said ZETA DIVISION.

“In addition, a medical certificate from a doctor has been issued, and we have confirmed it in advance.”

In April of 2020, ZETA DIVISION became a part of VALORANT. Previously, the team was known as JUPITER. Since the beginning of the game, ZETA’s male roster has established itself as one of the most successful teams in Japan, having taken first place in both the Japanese Ignition Series and the First Strike Japan tournaments.

This coming Saturday, the first round of the VCT 2022 Game Changers Japan Open Qualifiers will get underway. This will be the ZETA DIVISION women’s team’s very first national VALORANT competition.

According to the official statement released by the team, “As the women’s ZETA DIVISION team, we will do all in our best to deliver exciting games.”

There will be a total of 32 teams competing against one another in an effort to get into the top four and compete in the main event. Following the one-day qualifiers, the VCT 2022 Game Changers Japan will start on August 6 and continue through August 7. In this round, the top four Japanese teams will compete against one another for the first two berths in the Game Changers East Asia tournament.

The ZETA DIVISION will be the team to represent the area in Berlin in the late autumn if it is successful in winning that event. The prize pool for the VCT Game Changers Japan competition is 1 million Japanese yen, which is equivalent to more than US$7,000.
