After proving that EU is better than NA at the Rift Rivals tournament, European teams are going back to domestic competition and deciding the best of the best in their own region. Week 4 brings us new exciting clashes, and European fans will be on the edge of their seats in a very short while.

Giants Gaming vs. FC Schalke 04 Esports

These two very different teams have had a similar start to the season – neither of them are ecstatic about their poor play and numerous losses. Both of them need improvement, and they need it fast, since Giants have looked awful all split, and Schalke are light years away from the form needed to achieve their goal of a deep playoffs run.

It’s safe to say that Giants’ LCS-winning ADC Steeelback is a strong contender for the worst LCS player this split. The Frenchman’s lack of impact on his team’s play has become somewhat of a meme, and Giants are basically playing with only one carry, the versatile mid laner Betsy. Schalke’s high-profile signings aren’t faring much better individually, though. Vizicsacsi has been very disappointing throughout the season, and Upset still has to work on his positioning to be considered a top-tier prospect. The one thing Schalke can do well, though, is getting an advantage in the early game. That’s what makes them the favourite here, as Giants seemingly can’t do anything if they get crushed early. (GIA 30%, S04 70%).

Team ROCCAT vs. Unicorns of Love

After an okay start for a team with a sick AD carry, Unicorns of Love have once again experienced an 0-2 week and have looked rather poor. Roccat have been on a run of three 1-1 weeks in a row, and a win against Unicorns would help them retain that streak very much, since their next opponent is the in-form Fnatic.

UOL’s bot lane has been an issue over the entire split, with Samux looking like he hadn’t had a chance to adapt to the new bot lane picks. Luckily for him, his favourite Xayah is coming back, and that may be a focal point for the Unicorns. However, the top lane is where Roccat will have a substantial advantage, as Profit is currently far superior to WhiteKnight. As a unit, Roccat are simply more consistent than the volatile Unicorns, and they should be considered favourites coming into this game. (ROC 65%, UOL 35%)

Best bet: Bet on Team ROCCAT to win, paying -138.89 at BetOnline

Team Vitality vs. H2k-Gaming

Another day, another tough matchup for H2k. The winless, 10th placed, seemingly hopeless team will be facing Vitality, who are looking good in the new meta, and are never out of new experiments and surprises. It’ll be interesting to see both teams on 8.13, and if the return of traditional ADC picks has had an impact on their level of play.

It’s been remarkably tough for H2k’s talented bot laner Sheriff to adapt to anything else than crit-stacking ADC’s. The inconsistent Shook is often the best player of the team, doing the best he can on carry junglers, but the rest of the squad is often very late to follow his calls. Vitality should be comfortable with roaming around the map in search for picks on the disorganized H2k players. This stylistic advantage would be enough to label them as favourites, and when the difference in quality is added to the mix, it is clear that Vitality have a much better chance of winning. (VIT 70%, H2K 30%).

G2 Esports vs. Misfits Gaming

Here it is, the match of the week, if not the match of the split so far! G2 and Misfits meet in a clash of the only two undefeated teams in EU LCS who have shared the #1 spot in the standings since the start.

The battle of the hugely different styles G2 and Misfits used to dominate the rest of the league will be a treat for the viewers. G2 have been excellent at funnel strategies, putting Perkz on Kai’Sa or Lucian and giving him all that he needs to annihilate the opposition. Misfits are the polar opposite, playing a modern version of the traditional team comp with an ADC and an AP mid laner, with Hans Sama being unstoppable so far. It’s nearly impossible to name the favourite in this game. Since G2’s style is more volatile and prone to going awry, a tiny advantage goes to the side of Misfits. (G2 45%, MSF 55%).

Best bet: Bet on Misfits Gaming to win, paying +115 at BetOnline

Splyce vs. Fnatic

Two of Europe’s Rift Rivals representatives meet in the last match of the day, both with their own goals and dreams. Fnatic will want to keep up with the leading two, in hopes of snatching away that playoff bye in the future, while Splyce should be looking to get into the top 6 for the first time.

Splyce are looking better than they did during their 0-4 run, but there is still a lot to be fixed. The Snakes have had a substandard performance at Rift Rivals, but a surprise win against Team Liquid shows that they have what it takes to beat a top team. Fnatic, though, might be too big of a challenge. Unless Splyce stomp the early game (which they very rarely do), Fnatic’s flexible and unpredictable squad should take the win here. (SPY 25%, FNC 75%)

The most competitive EU LCS regular split of all time has come to an incredibly exciting end. Some unexpected faces sit comfortably in the playoffs, and some predicted title contenders will have to watch the battle for the European crown on their PC screens. And while all the teams participating in this split have shown impressive play and potential, Fnatic, G2, Splyce, Vitality, H2K and Roccat managed to climb above the others. As a result, they now have a shot at becoming the League of Legends champions of Europe and representing their region at the Mid-season Invitational.

On our radar are this weekend’s quarterfinal matches, which will decide who plays Fnatic and G2 in the semifinals, here are our free betting predictions.

SPLYCE (#3) vs. TEAM ROCCAT (#6)

Splyce and Roccat open the knockout stage on Saturday with a match that will determine who goes on to fight G2 Esports. While Splyce are clearly aiming towards the trophy, Roccat will surely put up a fight in their first playoff run since 2015.

Splyce survived their terrible start to the split and soared up the ladder to claim a third place finish. Previously a major weakness, top laner Odoamne found his old form and is currently a force to be reckoned with, while Nisqy improved substantially over the course of the split and fixed most of his laning problems. Their main strength, however, remains the terrific bot lane of Kobbe and KaSing, who both excel in mid-game teamfights and provide stability in lane.

Roccat have retained their simple snowballing strategy throughout the split, and are likely to use it against Splyce. Blanc and occasionally Profit carry the team with Memento providing them with frequent roams, and off of that, Roccat will try to put their mid laner ahead and end the game before 30 minutes, as they did against Misfits, Vitality, and even G2.

Their problem might lie in the bot lane, since KaSing’s defensive ranged picks work perfectly against Norskeren’s preferred heavy-engage supports.
Splyce could fall to Roccat’s win-lane-win-game playstyle in the top and mid lanes, but they are also one of the best mid-game teams in the league. Splyce know how to play from behind and that was one of their main strengths this year: having to make comebacks through top-tier teamfighting and clever macro is where Splyce thrive.

Roccat might take a game at most, but I don’t think they have the coordination and individual quality to cope with the Snakes once the game goes late.

Best bet: Splyce to win 3-1, paying +220 at BetOnline

TEAM VITALITY (#4) vs. H2K GAMING (#5)

Two teams that, prior to the start of the split, were thought of as bottom tier, on Sunday have the opportunity to fight for a trial of fire against Fnatic in the semifinals. In this hard-to-predict match, both H2K and Vitality have the potential to make it further.

Vitality started the split as the team to beat, dominating the league with a 7-1 run, but fell off the charts after their mid-centric and early game focused playstyle was figured out by the rest of the teams. Vitality’s usual strategy was to put jungler Gilius on tank and gank duty, and camp mid to crush the opposing laner and get Jiizuke rolling like a train.

The Italian has showed a massive potential to carry games on multiple champions, and he will most likely be Vitality’s win condition once again. The bot lane of Minitroupax and Jactroll is not to be scoffed at, though, especially considering Mini’s favourites Caitlyn and Jinx are in high demand. On the other hand, Jactroll’s inconsistency and fairly weak champion pool could be targeted by H2K. Cabochard can be week when left alone in top lane, but H2K’s SmittyJ probably won’t be much of a hassle for him even without jungle support.

The polar opposite to Vitality, a team that started 1-7 and went on a rampaging run towards the end of the split, H2K plays a very late-game and teamfighting focused playstyle. Their signature fights rely on Sheriff’s brilliant hypercarry play, and Shook’s intelligent pathing and synergy with Selfie gets them through the early game without a huge deficit. The key to H2K’s victory will likely lie in the hands of the veteran jungler: if Shook can stop Gilius’s early roams and bully him out of lane, Vitality’s snowball will be shut down and they will be left without a useful jungler for the entire mid-game, which is the time to get Sheriff fed. The main downside of their roster, however, is the weak laning in all the lanes, and especially SmittyJ’s tendency to simply get run over.

This match has a large chance to go to a five-game bloodbath, and both teams could end up victorious. I think Vitality has a slight edge due to their good early game and star carry in the mid lane, but H2K can definitely fire back if the games go to late game. Drafts will be very important here, especially handling the Caitlyn pick, a staple for both AD Carries.

The last week of regular season matches in the EU LCS is about to start, and it’s going to be a fiery one.

The only team locked in its place are the league leaders Fnatic, while all the other competitors have the chance to move either up or down on the ladder. The battle for the last playoff spots is going to be a bloodbath, with six teams fighting over the two spots. Let’s dive into the matches then!

SATURDAY NA LCS TIPS: LCS NA LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
SUNDAY NA LCS TIPS: LCS NA LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
BETTING GUIDE: LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
STREAM GAME: HOW TO WATCH LOL ONLINE

GIANTS GAMING vs. SPLYCE

Another tough game for Giants, but this time against a team who definitely won’t hold back. Splyce will fight tooth and nail for the playoff bye, and Giants are probably just a minor obstacle for them at the moment. Both individually and macro-wise, Splyce have an edge on Giants on paper, but we won’t know until the game starts. Still, in maybe the most heavily favored match of the week, Splyce are likely to send Giants home before the playoffs.

Best bet: Splyce to win -200 with BetOnline

H2K vs. TEAM ROCCAT

Not an easy match to predict, but if we take recent form into consideration… well, it’s still not an easy match to predict. Both of these teams can be brilliant, with H2K beating G2 and Misfits, and Roccat smashing G2 and Vitality in recent games, but when matched against each other, it’s near impossible to know who will be victorious. As mentioned earlier, Roccat likes playing simple snowbally comps, while H2K sometimes likes to give Marcin “Selfie” Wolski and Patrik “Sheriff” Jiru scaling champions and stall the game. In this match, I would give a very slight edge to Roccat, simply because they have looked much more coherent in their macro, but H2K certainly have their say and won’t back down easily.

Best bet: Team Roccat to win -188.68 with BetOnline

UNICORNS OF LOVE vs. MISFITS GAMING

Again, two direct contenders for the last playoff spots meet each other. If UOL lose to G2 earlier, their path to playoffs is over, but if they win, Misfits should be more than respectful towards the motivated bunch of Unicorns they will be playing. Misfits are certainly better individually, but their lows can be so low that UOL might completely stomp them in team-fights. UOL’s strong mid-game team-fighting and synergy will be tough to deal with for Misfits, but if the Rabbits have a good enough early game, the team-fights may not even be needed to win the game for them. Overall, Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian and the rest of the team will have to stop Jonas “Kold” Andersen from getting the Unicorns ahead, and since Kold is well known for his shaky pathing and getting caught out, a slight edge to Misfits might be the most that can be said about this match.

Best bet: Misfits Gaming to win -277.78 with BetOnline

G2 vs. TEAM VITALITY

The two shakiest of the top four teams meet in their last game of the split, directly fighting over a higher spot on the table. GodGilius and the crew might have what it takes to take down G2, especially if Perkz plays as badly as he did last week, and Jiizuke comes out of lane with a lead. Vitality’s bot lane also seems much more stable than the much criticized duo of G2. The answer to G2’s needs will lie in the top lane and jungle positions, where Martin “Wunder” Hansen has been popping off all split, and is very likely to beat Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet in lane convincingly. Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski is also in much better form than Gilius, and shutting his opponent in the early game will be of key value for G2. Still, Vitality’s simple strategy has worked against struggling teams, and the Bees have a good chance of taking this game.

Best bet: Team Vitality to win +120 with BetOnline

FNATIC vs. FC SCHALKE 04

The last game of the split will be the regular split winners Fnatic playing against the newly motivated Schalke. The German team is one of the most mechanically proficient in the league, and if Fnatic decides to take the game easy or practice some new compositions, Schalke might punish them and lock their cherished playoff spot. However, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson and Rasmus “Caps” Winther have looked unbeatable in the last few weeks, and will probably have their own reasons to display their full skills and confidently decimate any opponent they face. Fnatic are the favorites once again, but the Boys in Royal Blue might just catch the last train to playoffs with a win in one of the toughest matches of the season.

Best bet: Fnatic to win -250 with BetOnline

Team Vitality remains top-dog and H2K finds themselves at the bottom of the pack heading into Week 4 of the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS).

Another lucrative four-fold payout was snatched out of our reach last week after H2K spectacularly choked to Unicorns of Love, the worst team in the League. Thankfully, our favourites – Giants, Misfits and Vitality soldiered on with solid form.

Here are our top picks for Week 4 of the EU LCS Spring Split.

    H2K Gaming vs. Splyce

    Game 1, Friday, February 2, 5pm GMT / 6pm CET

H2K played some terrible LoL last weekend, steamrolled by the previously winless Unicorns of Love and humiliated by G2 the following afternoon with only one kill to their team’s name.

The group need to rethink their ability to properly use game-scaling to their advantage, given the fast and decisive manner in which both of their previous opponents swept them to prevent any chance of a late-game rush.

Meanwhile, Splyce upset the superior Team Vitality with smarter positioning but wasted their farming and hypercarry advantages against G2.

So long as mid-laner Yasin ‘Nisqy’ Dincer Kasper and top-laner Andrei ‘Odoamme’ Pascu are less conservative in the opening minutes, we think Splyce can learn their lesson in time for a bounce back against the new bottom-of-the-barrel team.

    Splyce to beat H2K Gaming – 1.30 at Betway.com

    ROCCAT vs. Team Vitality

    Game 2, Friday, February 2, 6pm GMT / 7pm CET

Team Vitality continue to destroy the competition with better macro play, unwavering defense and smart teamfight baiting to catch cocky opponents off-guard and remain on top of the standings at 5 -1. An easy pick, then.

Jungler Erberk ‘Gilius’ Demir was the star of last week, using smartly timed ults with Sejuani to bring back the match against Schalke 04 under their control while the rest of the squad picked off objectives and built up their gold lead for a final, decisive push.

As we predicted, ROCCAT show no signs of adjusting their overly aggressive plays for higher-ranked opponents like Vitality, and suffered snowball losses to Fnactic and Giants as a result – and we’re not too confident they won’t repeat the same mistakes here in their desperation for a win.

Team Vitality to beat ROCCAT – 1.55 at Betway.com

    Giants vs. Misfits

    Game 3, Friday, February 2, 7pm GMT / 8pm CET

The Giants continue to focus on objective play and the long-game to great effect, as demonstrated with their comeback win over ROCCAT last weekend.

Mid laner Felix ‘Betsy’ Edling led the Giants with his dominant Azir and an overwhelming hyper carry, while AD carry Pierre ‘Steeelback’ Medjaldi’s smart positioning was crucial in shutting out ROCCAT from a late-game Baron secure.

Misfits leaned a little too hard on AD carry Steven ‘Hans sama’ Liv last week, who carried the overly passive team to victory over Fnatic with his ridiculously high damage output.

However, they arguably only got the lead after Fnatic fumbled on a critical teamfight push, and displayed a lack of coordination in where to press their opponent even with a 6,000 gold lead.

Expect a back-and-forth struggle given the way these two have been fighting the past few weekends, but the Giants will know how to close.

Giants to beat Misfits – 2.30 at Betway.com

    G2 vs. Schalke 04

    Game 5, Friday, February 2, 9pm GMT / 10pm CET

Both G2 and Schalke have struggled to find their place in the EU LCS Spring Split – this match will determine who ascends from the middle of the pack and gets a real chance at top 3.

G2 returned to form with their dismantling of Splyce last weekend, smartly calling their Elder Dragon bluff while mid laner Luka ‘Perkz’ Perkovi? performed some crucial clutch sleeps for easy teamfights and a slow and steady close.

Schalke have significantly improved on the teamfighting front and in securing the right picks throughout the game, with mid-laner Erlend ‘Nukeduck’ Holm continuing to deal out consistent damage as Galio and top-laner Milo ‘Pride’ Wehnes exerting constant pressure as Kha’Zix.

We’re backing Schalke 04 for another bounce back given their better team composition, especially if Nukeduck can continue to keep the mid-lane down on lock.

    Schalke 04 to beat G2 – 2.05 at Betway.com

Even after getting a little too cocky with series veteran Misfits last weekend, all eyes remain on the revitalised Team Vitality as they defend their top rankings in Week 3 of the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS).

Another glorious four-leg multi payout was just out of our reach last week after Splyce disappointingly rolled over to ROCCAT, though Fnatic, Misfits and Schalke continued to pull the rug from under the EU LCS’s favourites as we predicted.

Unicorns of Love vs. H2K Gaming

    Game 1, Friday, February 2, 5pm GMT / 6pm CET

Unicorns of Love remain the only winless team in the EU LCS heading into Week 3 and we’re not surprised one bit.

They’re prone to sudden collapse after any opponent gets a teamfight snowball rolling and without a strong shotcaller, their indecisiveness has led to predictable, albeit entertaining massacres.

H2K Gaming fared little better last week in match-wins, but they scored plenty of First Bloods and early skirmish victories that showed some significant improvement in their lane-control.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back from straight losses, but we reckon H2K are due for a proper comeback game this Friday.

H2K Gaming to beat Unicorns of Love – 1.80 at Betway.com

    Giants Gaming vs. ROCCAT

    Game 2, Friday, February 2, 6pm GMT / 7pm CET

Both the Giants and ROCCAT head into their clash on Friday in form, though we think the former are better equipped to deliver the upset.

The Giants have opted for the long-game over aggro plays to find great success this series, patiently gold farming and handing off a few battles here or there before overwhelming their overconfident foes around the half-hour mark.

Mid laner Felix ‘Betsy’ Edling is the Giants player to beat after his excellent performance as Veigar last week, smartly using his stack of AP to decimate G2 and secure his team’s logic-defying comeback victory. AD carry Pierre ‘Steeelback’ Medjaldi and his late-game Kog’Maw is another emergent threat ROCCAT will need to shut down early.

ROCCAT doubled down on its aggressive objective baiting last week which worked against both of its weaker, more impatient opponents. However, the Giants are a much more disciplined threat, and so long as they keep promising ROCCAT mid-laner Jin ‘Blanc’ Seong-min from dominanting as Azir, they can set the pace once more.

Giants Gaming to beat ROCCAT – 1.85 at Betway.com

    Schalke 04 vs. Team Vitality

    Game 3, Friday, February 2, 7pm GMT / 8pm CET

Mid-lane marvel Erlend ‘Nukeduck’ Holm continues to be instrumental in Schalke 04’s handful of surprise victories this EU LCS series.

With pinpoint precision as Malzahar, Nukeduck and company have shut out numerous enemy carries and turned around many early skirmishes with calm and coordinated counter-plays.

As much as we’ve rooted for Schalke since the preseason, however, Team Vitality have shown superior macro play in almost every single match to-date – and we’re expect another decisive victory here.

Whether it’s mid-laner Daniele ‘Jiizuke’ di Mauro assassinating foes left, right and center as Ryze or support Jakub ‘Jactroll’ Skurzyńsk making the most of the late-game, they show no signs of ceding their top position.

Team Vitality to beat Schalke 04 – 1.70 at Betway.com

    Fnatic vs. Misfits

    Game 5, Friday, February 2, 9pm GMT / 10pm CET

Fnatic are on the verge of a bottom placing and desperately need the win this Friday.

However, their performance last week shows they have yet to improve upon their terrible lane management habits, allowing several opponents to backdoor their Nexus with inefficient recall.

Fnatic’s midlaner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther is the weak point the Misfits are more than capable of exploiting, particularly if Steven ‘Hans sama’ Liv can continue his teamfight domination while jungler Nubar ‘Maxlore’ Sarafian sows discord with more sneaky objective captures.

Misfits to beat Fnactic – 1.90 at Betway.com

We’re heading into Week 2 of the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS) and it’s safe to say this year’s change to Bo1 (Best of 1) has levelled the playing field and demanded better flexibility in strategy.

Every team got their nose bloodied, save for the rejuvenated roster of Vitality, while our favourites Misfits, Schalke 04 and Splyce had some rocky starts.

Some spectacular upsets, impressive split-pushing and aggressive zoning from all parties, then, and Week 2 looks to bring more amazing plays as the teams find their groove and settle in.

Here are our top picks for Week 2 of the EU LCS Spring Split.

EU LCS Spring Split, Week 2 Accumulator of the Week with Betway Esports

    • Splyce to beat ROCCAT – 1.55
    • Misfits to beat H2K – 1.35
    • Vitality to beat Fnatic – 2.75
    • Schalke 04 to beat Unicorns of Love – 1.40

    Betway.com fourfold accumulator pays 8.05

    Splyce vs. ROCCAT

Splyce’s crew suffered an early setback last week against Fnatic with poor coordination and map control, but their second match against UoL proved they know how to play the long-game.

Andrei ‘Odoamme’ Pascu will have to work on evading gankers a little better, but mid-laner Yasin ‘Nisqy’ Dincer Kasper and support Raymond ‘KaSing’ Tsang held the line as consistently as we expected and should continue to impress and help secure another win here.

ROCCAT let Schalke 04’s Ryze tear them apart in a discouraging scramble for plays and even with the G2 win, it’s made us less confident in their own ability for an extended comeback tour.

    Misfits vs. H2K

Methodical is the best word to describe the Misfits’ dismantling of Schalke 04 last week.

Top-laner Barney ‘Alphari’ Morris and jungler Nubar ‘Maxlore’ Sarafian lived up to our expectations as the Misfits dream-team duo, and we reckon they can easily keep up the pain against H2K.

Alphari was brilliant as a roaming Gangplank and his 7/0/8 KDA was well deserved, while Maxlore’s active ganking and lane management will keep the group one step ahead.

H2K were aggro on the barons and while it worked the first time, their top-lane needs some work if they wish to avoid another lopsided team-fight massacre that Vitality was serving up in droves.

    Vitality vs. Fnatic

Vitality’s roster returned to the 2018 season refreshed and it showed in their rapid-fire domination of the mid-lane and its towers against Giants Gaming.

Their slower, more methodical dismantling of H2K’s top-lane last week also have us confident in their ability to switch things up with the veteran roster of Fnatic this Saturday.

In contrast, Fnatic were quick on the objectives but showed questionable lane management last week. The aggro approach worked on Splyce because they lacked nuance themselves, but Vitality have shown they’re a whole other ball game.

Schalke 04 vs. Unicorns of Love

The Schalke 04 rookie to watch, Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp, called in sick, but mid-laner Erlend V?tevik ‘Nukeduck’ Holm showed proven experience is more than enough to secure the Rift.

Nukeduck’s near solo steamrolling of ROCCAT last week with Ryze was incredible, as was Upset’s support fill-in Oskar ‘VandeR’ Bogdan, who turned around a 3v5 engagement with a triple kill and set the tone for the rest of the weekend.

Other than some early split-pushing from Fabian ‘Exileh’ Schubert which was well executed, Unicorn of Love were on the back-foot the entire opening weekend.

The 04 mistakenly let the Misfits get the long-game foothold, but we don’t think UoL’s current track record gives any indication they’ll be able to do the same here.
