Dplus KIA and T1 will lock horns on Sunday, September 1, in the second round Losers’ Bracket in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. The fixture will offer the teams one final chance to claw their way onto the big stage and compete for the LCK trophy, and according to the esports betting odds, T1 is in a better spot to accomplish that feat.
The top LoL betting sites have priced T1 as -166.67 favourites to walk away with a win, about the same number we got on this series at the end of July. The Esports World Cup 2024 champions won that game 2-1, but they arguably did not deserve to.
It was a tragic loss for Dplus KIA, but not the first game which ended in the same fashion – Dplus KIA getting themselves into advantageous positions only to slip in critical moments. This has been plaguing Heo “ShowMaker” Su and his crew’s run through the summer split, so why would it be any different this weekend?
Despite Dplus KIA’s slip-ups, T1 are not in the best shape ahead of this match. They did not look too convincing against KT Rolster in round one of the playoffs, and even less so in their 0-3 loss against Hanwha Life Esports. On the other side, Dplus KIA suffered the same tough loss against Gen.G in the previous round.
If we isolate performance metrics only from the playoffs, T1 comes out ahead, but that is hardly a good enough reason to take their side of this contest. Dplus KIA remain a competitive team who have to figure out their late game, whereas T1 are just sloppy and look very vulnerable.
This could be a very competitive game that extends to five maps.
